What MCP actually is

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI agents call real tools instead of just generating text. Point any MCP-compatible agent at ForgeSend, authenticate with a workspace API key, and it can act on your workspace directly — no custom integration to build. Using Claude specifically? Add ForgeSend straight from Claude's own Connectors screen and authorise it with OAuth in one click — no API key to generate or paste.

An agent can create, list, update, pause, resume, and delete campaigns, and manage individual sequence steps — the same actions an operator has in the dashboard, available to whatever agent you connect.

Leads managed, analytics visible

An agent can search, add, update, and remove contacts, and enroll an entire list into a campaign in one call. It can also read the actual content of a reply — not just that one arrived — so it can report on what a prospect said, not just that they said something. Analytics tools are read-only — per-workspace, per-campaign, per-step, and per-variant performance, plus daily send volume — so an agent can report on results down to a single sequence step or A/B variant without ever changing them.

No agent ever touches your credits

Enrichment and Find Leads are deliberately excluded from the MCP server. It's a design choice, not a gap — an AI agent can run your campaigns and report on results, but it can never spend a workspace's enrichment credits or pull new leads on its own. Every credit-spending action still requires a human at the keyboard.

What can an AI agent do through the MCP server?

Full campaign management (create, list, update, start, pause, resume, delete, and sequence step editing), approving or rejecting held pre-send jobs, lead and list management (search, add, update, delete contacts, and enroll lists into campaigns), reading actual reply conversation content, and read-only analytics — including per-step and per-variant performance.

Can an agent spend my enrichment credits or find new leads?

No. Enrichment and Find Leads are deliberately excluded from MCP access. That's a safety choice — an agent can run and report on campaigns, but it can never spend a workspace's credits on its own.

How do I connect an AI agent to ForgeSend?

Two ways: generate a workspace API key from Settings and point any MCP-compatible agent at ForgeSend's MCP endpoint using that key, or — if you're using Claude — add ForgeSend directly from Claude's own Connectors screen and authorise it with OAuth in one click, no key required.
